Here’s How Olu Jacobs Wooed His Wife Joke Silva

The marriage between veteran actors Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva is one that has been used by many as a sample for other entertainers getting married.

Veteran Olu Jacobs has opened up on his career, family and his wife.

Read excerpts from his interview with Sun Newspaper;

You have done over four decades as an actor. When you look back, what would you say are your happiest moments?

Looking around me and seeing that many people are there to come and enjoy themselves in an area that people thought would never be possible, because in the past, actors and actresses were looked down on. Now they are doing well and people are applauding. That is my joy. Like I say, I would rather one person praise my work than have 99 do the opposite. Even if I have my work praised by 99 people but one comes and says sorry, I don’t understand it, it ruins everything. This is only the beginning. The schools are going back to play their traditional roles and acting and drama are all part of the curriculum; that was how we grew up.

You were in Oloibiri, a fantastic movie. Yes, it won awards but what do you think made the movie stand out?

Good work. You look at the lighting, it captures the mood and the sound was good. What more do you want? And the story is compelling. You are shocked and your thinking will never be the same again. The story was being told to people who knew about it and some who did not know about it, but the message was passed. The movie is like a reawakening, to make sure we don’t let this happen again.

Are any of your kids taking after you?

Well, it may not be in front of the camera, maybe behind the camera.

You are married to one of the prettiest and talented actresses in Nollywood. How did you meet Joke Silva? We learnt that you actually snatched her from a rival. What really happened?

(Laughter) That is very wrong. I was invited to come and do a play in Nigeria by the National Theatre. I was living in England at that time. I was to play lead in Wole Soyinka’s The Trials of Brother Jero. We were having the production when the door opened and this lady walked in and said sorry, we are ready. When she walked in I said excuse me ladies and gentlemen, this is the lady I am going to marry. You know bodies can attract and bodies can repel. I saw her and I was attracted. I am not an impulsive person. I did not just say come. I had to struggle to get her. She was stunned even though she gave me up and down. (laughter).

Your union is a testament to how celebrities should handle their marriage. We have seen a lot of stories about breakups and it is saddening. Is it that actors and actresses can’t make good homes?

No, quite frankly, let me tell you what. I don’t encourage people to think that way. It is virtually in all professions, in all offices whereever you have women and men together. Even if you don’t hear it, we have a lot of divorces in all other sectors. For the fact that you don’t hear it in other sectors like banking or in the oil sector, as oily as it is, does not mean it is not happening. It is in all offices where we have men and women.

What is the secret to your successful marriage?

It is the grace of God. And you must learn to be patient and above all, learn to be friends. She is your friend, your lover; she is not your slave. You don’t do that to a woman. You don’t intimidate her. If she is your friend, you will be tender. When a friend is involved you are tender.

Sir, we also understand that you are a great cook. Can you tell us about that?

(Laughter) I try, when I cook they eat.

Was that one of the skills that made your wife fall for you…

(Laughter) In the house, when we were growing up, you know usually, the girls did all the work and the boys did not. So, my parents decided that what they would do was give us a competition. Let the boys cook for the boys and the girls cook for the girls. So, you have to eat what you cook and that was what did it. We all had to learn.

As a veteran, can you give us tips to success as an actor?

Repetition of an act makes its performance almost automatic. The more you do something the better it gets. Patience, you must have patience and believe in yourself. If you really need to ask questions, please go and ask. Don’t shy away, they won’t think you are stupid; they will help you.

9. Potato Potahto

Potato Potahto certainly remains pretty to look at, even when the screenplay begins to sag with repetition. The sets are colourful and costumes were designed to both grab attention and flatter the actors, particularly Jocelyn Dumas, who is a designer’s dream to dress; and Lala Akindoju, who flaunts legs that stretch from Accra to Ankara.

8. Couple’s Award

It isn’t a complete picture that Couple’s Award, as written and directed by Kehinde Olorunyomi Odukoya presents, plus, there is that troublesome itch to reach for a crowd-pleasing ending. Looking beyond this though, Couple’s Award is a finely acted, well presented effort that is marked by a rich story and a somewhat faithful execution. Shame it wasn’t widely seen.

7. King Invincible

Ultimately, King Invincible is a director’s film and Femi Adisa’s hard work and vision is what is most striking about the entire picture. His passion is visible in every shot, and in every fight scene. He falters on occasion, with what he gets in (clustered sets, unimpressive supporting actors) and with what he leaves out (a pivotal battle scene that could have told more of the hero’s character) but anyone can see that bigger things are sure to come from him.

6. Slow Country

Slow Country moves with a deliberate pace until it gets to the bloody shootout that is really where director Eric Aghimien’s heart lies. He unspools a final act that is impressive in its stunt work and easy command of visual effects. It would be unjust to dismiss Slow Country as a minor work from a promising auteur. Pretty obvious Aghimien has plenty more things to teach Nollywood. Someone just needs to give him a budget worth his talent.

5. Banana Island Ghost (BIG)

The real star of BIG is the picture. Sasore manages something special here with drone shots and visual effects that tell a story all their own. His cinematography is pretty basic but the pictures are lit up to near perfection, only interrupted by the over enthusiastic product placements. Watch out for Akah Nnani who steals his scenes and makes quite the impression as a hopeless police sergeant.

4. CaTCH.eR

A basic police procedural – to the extent that it can be called one – masquerading as a clever whodunit, CaTCH.eR turns out to be more tame domestic drama, albeit with some blood and gore, than edge-of-your-seat thriller. The attraction for the young actors, must have been the chance to work with Taylaur, a filmmaker who with a soft focus on style and action, is setting himself up as one of Nollywood’s thinking men.

3. Hakkunde

In many respects, Hakkunde is the story of contemporary Nigeria, a witty, emotional exploration of what it means to be young and Nigerian. Set in Lagos and Kaduna, Hakkunde places one young graduate’s quest for dignity at the center of a larger, more encompassing story of resourcefulness, doggedness and the importance of community.

2. Isoken

Isoken builds up to a satisfying, if cluttered ending as the usual romantic comedy tropes are ticked off. Director Jade Osiberu’s imprints are all over the film as she unspools the sights and sounds of contemporary upperclass Lagos living. Her camera work is deft and even when she needn’t bother; she comes up with interesting ways of presenting her picture.

1. Ojukokoro

With its voice over narration, nourish mood, ensemble cast and time bending snap structure, Dare Olaitan has obviously studied the iconic films of auteurs like Quentin Tarantino (Reservoir Dogs) and Guy Ritchie (Snatch). He pays homage to them in ways that may seem obvious but makes it clear that his vision is no lazy copy, as he situates his madcap story very much in present day Nigeria.

5 Nigerian Celebrity Breakups In 2017

Divorce and cases of separation in the entertainment industry always make news headlines and trend for a long time on social media.

Some celebrity marriages, which are often staged amidst pomp, tend to crash as fast as they are contracted.

In 2017, it was not any different. While some celebrity marriages have stood the test of time, others were not so lucky in this regard.

Kanyinulia.com have complied the top 5 celebrity marriage scandals and breakups of 2017 that got people talking all year long.

1. Mercy Ayigbe and Lanre Gentry

When in April news broke that the marriage of star actress, Mercy Aigbe to Lanre Gentry was about to hit the rocks, even with her pictures showing her battered face all over the blogosphere, many people hoped that it was a publicity stunt.

A fight between the couple allegedly led to her bleeding, a situation which informed Mercy’s decision to storm the office of the Lagos State Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Commissioner, Lola Akande, to report the matter.

Mr. Gentry was subsequently remanded in Kirikiri Prisons in Lagos. The 52-year-old hotelier finally appeared in court after failing to show up twice. He was then remanded in prison until he met the bail demands of N500, 000 and two sureties who reside in Lagos and have landed properties.

He was granted bail after he was arraigned at an Ikeja magistrate court on a three-count charge of domestic violence, assault and threat to life.

The couple were married for seven years and the union produced a son. While it was Mercy’s second marriage, it was Gentry’s third marriage.

The actress who had accused her husband of physical violence, which she said affected her sight, and caused her to bleed internally for over three weeks, disclosed their separation in a tell-it-all interview with BroadwayTV.

2. Tonto Dikeh and Olakunle Churchill

All was going well between Tonto Dikeh and Oladunni Churchill until January 2017, when the marriage hit the rocks.

The actress would eventually share messy details of her marriage. She also released photos to back her claims. Her husband, however, countered her claims, disclosing that he never abused the actress but was a victim of a woman who was under the influence of drugs.

The duo has continued to slander each other and reveal messy details of themselves on social media.

Theirs is unarguably the messiest Nigerian celebrity breakup of 2017 and in a long while.

While it is Tonto’s first marriage, it is Churchill’s second attempt. He was previously married to a certain Bimbo Coker. Churchill is a nephew of a former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo.

Tonto and Churchill met two and a half years ago at Escape Nightclub in Lagos during the birthday party of the latter’s brother. Tonto got pregnant six months after they met and they staged a glamorous traditional marriage on August 29, 2015 at Tonto’s hometown Rumukani in Rumukwuta, Rivers State.

In February, the Nollywood star confirmed there were cracks in the marriage. She revealed she had moved out of the house with her son.

Churchill in company of his uncle, Bishop Dare, met with Tonto ‘s father, Sunny Dikeh, in Port Harcourt in June to retrieve the bride price.

Churchill made the video of the intimate family event public on Instagram. Meanwhile, Tonto celebrated the final dissolution of her marriage in an Instagram post, which simply read, “The joy was indescribable.”

3. Damilola Adegbite and Chris Attoh

Although the pair has been evasive about the state of their marriage, there have been mild indications that they have separated.

They both have not flaunted their love and family on social media for a while now. Instead, Instagram photo captions indicates that they are embarking on individual journeys right now.

The 36-year-old Ghanaian star proposed to Adegbite on a boat cruise in Manhattan, NYC in August 2014. The pair tied the knot on February 14, at the La Villa Boutique Hotel in Accra in 2015.

After months of speculation and denials, the Ghanaian actor, finally admitted that his marriage was over. He made the disclosure on Bella Naija in September.

4. Muma Gee and Prince Eke

The couple met at a Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG in Omole, Lagos State, and got married a few weeks after. The union produced three children including a set of twins.

The couple that was married for six years finally had their volatile marriage dissolved in 2017.

Muma Gee filed for divorce in February, citing domestic violence and infidelity as the reasons.

Muma Gee revealed the details that led to her divorce on Instagram. She said that she suffered series of domestic violence from her estranged husband.

She also disclosed that he proposed to four different women while they were still married. But Prince Eke countered her claims stating that Muma Gee abandoned him with their four children and ran off with another man.

5. Lilian Esoro and Ubi Franklin

What is really going on in the marriage of record label owner, Ubi Franklin and actress, Lilian Esoro, is the million-dollar question on the lips of many.

Their union had been rocky from the very start. It is believed that Lilian initially did not want to marry Ubi, and she had indeed turned down his marriage proposal at first, before she was pressured to accept.

She had also deleted her account on Instagram and went on hibernation before friends in the industry prevailed on her to accept Ubi. This was amidst unconfirmed rumours that Lilian was in love with a popular married comedian.

They wedded in November 2015 and in less than a year and before their son turned one, they split.

It began with rumours and then Lilian un-followed Ubi on Instagram. She also took an even more drastic measure: she took down his name from her Instagram account.

”Sex before marriage is bad, it leads to cheating in marriage” – Actress Olayode Juliana aka Toyo Baby Says

Olayode Juliana who was famous for her role as Toyo Baby in Funke Akindele’s Jenifa series, recently granted an interview with The Nation where she spoke on her firm belief against sex before marriage.

According to Juliana, sex before marriage leads to cheating when people eventually become married as they start comparing their partners sexual prowess with that of the people they had sex with before marriage. Read excerpts of her interview below

Do you believe that sex before marriage makes relationships more complicated?

Yes I do. Sex before marriage makes relationship more complicated. Some ladies date more than five men before marriage and sleep with all of them because they see it as a norm or a way to prove their love against God’s standard. I personally believe that there is a lot to sex than the pleasure it gives. It makes you become one with the person. It ties you with the person, such that when you marry you compare your previous sexual life with your present and the memories of how you did it with the other person won’t leave you, expecting more from your husband or wife, forgetting that we are all not the same and our sexual lives can’t be the same as well.

That’s what leads to cheating in marriage. Some men or women can’t imagine been faithful to just one person because they’ve done it with several people in their past or before marriage so it’s difficult. Research has it and I learnt that if you had sex with a particular person if you meet the person years after and you’re alone or whatever, it is very possible that you will do it again.

You are really a strong advocate on ‘no sex before marriage?

Sex is good, don’t get me wrong, I mean God created it and everything He made is good and beautiful but sex before marriage is what makes it bad and wrong and sex with anyone else apart from your husband or wife in marriage is bad as well.

He’s back again and now makes fool of himself on Social media everyday.

4. Eedris Abdul-Kareem
However, it didn’t stay dull for long. Eedris came along to save the day. This man woke up one day and decided to fill our social media with insults directed at other musicians.
Some took it calmly and others? Well, not so well. Among the latter group was Timaya who fired back at Eedris calling him names including a “dirty looking Igbo smoker”.
Eedris rants back to back on social media this year. Baba don tie, na so frustration set in.

5. Bobrisky
His mere existence is controversial but when we heard the news of his arrest and saw pictures, we couldn’t help but tune into the drama.
News over his arrest divided the social media population into the group of those campaigning for his basic human rights and the ones that thought he needed a little jail vacation.

The 5 Best Nollywood Actresses of 2017, by Charles Novia

As is the practice every year, Nollywood filmmaker Charles Novia has released his list of actresses whom he believes were the best during the course of 2017.

Here goes:

Using my annual templates of characterisation, internalisation, visualisation and articulation as score points, here are my five best actresses.

NUMBER 5: KATE HENSHAW

Kate Henshaw among Charles Novia's 5 best actresses | TheCable.ng
Kate Henshaw among Charles Novia’s 5 best actresses |

After a hiatus of sorts, perhaps ‘building up’ somewhere (if the pun is noticed), Kate returned and showed her prowess in two movies in 2017; ‘Roti’ and ‘The Women’. Showing her trademark ability to interpret roles in genres, Kate had a point to prove with her return to the big screen. I was impressed.

NUMBER 4: ZYNELL ZUH

21569240_1919923294913508_6348252149306097664_n.

I later found out that Zynell is a Ghanaian after I watched her in ‘Hire a Man’. Doesn’t matter. She was quite good in the movie and I had to search her out in a couple of other movies in the preceding year too. There’s an intensity in her acting and this lady knows her onions (or would one say her jollof since she’s from Ghana!). One to watch, this Zynell.

NUMBER 3: SHAFFY BELLO

Shaffy-Bello-AMVCA2017-OnoBello-682x1024.

In the Africa Magic popular series, ‘Battleground’, Shaffy is a delight to watch as she interpretes her role with great panache and precision. She’s got one of the best articulation I have ever heard in the industry and though, she’s much too overexposed in other TV series too, she is quite an actress. Well done, Shaffy!

NUMBER 2: OMOTOLA JALADE-EKEINDE

Glam-Africa-Magazine-with-Omotola-Jalade-Ekeinde-6.

A return to the big screen after some years in hiatus, saw Omotola sizzle in the movie ‘Alter Ego’ where she plays a mentally challenged lady with deep conflicts. She was also outstanding in the movie ‘The Tribunal’ as Arese. It was a good comeback for Omotola in 2017 and worthy of mention…and awards too.

NUMBER 1: OMOWUNMI DADA

Omowunmi-Dada-10-600x900

I must confess I had no clue who Omowunmi Dada was at the beginning of the year. I kid you not. But seeing her in ‘Omugwo’ startled me and I began asking questions and got pleasant answers.

I backtracked to a few other movies she featured in over the years and also watched her much on ‘Jemeji’. This is an actress on the rise and one who will blow..or has blown? It doesn’t matter. There is a pristine naturalism in Ms Dada’s acting and she is a delight to watch. Two thumbs up. She’s my pick for The Best Actress in 2017 *Next: My Best 5 Nollywood Actors in 2017.

Why Actresses Are Afraid Of Coming To My Hotel Room At Locations – Antar Laniyan

Antar Laniyan, work behind the scene would know that he can be likened to a soldier whenever he is working.

In fact, it is a general knowledge among actors that he is not one to mess with while shooting. In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the actor stated that his sternness on movie location is for a reason. He said, “If you are disciplined and you don’t put romance with women first as an actor, you would go far. If you believe that as an actor, you don’t need women all around you, then you would remain relevant because you would concentrate on your craft. I directed ‘SuperStory’ for about 10 years but no woman entered my room in the camp. You can ask Wale Adenuga himself. There were amorous advances from women but I shunned them. I am feared while on set. As a lady, you cannot see me and have the courage to approach me with your amorous advances. People would even tell you not to try it with me; they would advise the ladies not to wink at me because I would just slap them. It is not that I am wicked but I want my cast and crew members to do what is expected of them. You don’t have to give me anything to gain what you do not deserve. Use your talent and let me acknowledge that you are good at your work. You don’t have to bribe me with your body.

“When I am working, I let discipline guide me. I don’t care if you are befriending the producer; but as a director, I want a disciplined actor in front of me. I do not go to the location to wine and dine; instead I go to work. When it comes to working, I am like a man that goes to the war front with the mindset of winning the war. If I don’t face my work squarely, it is the same people that are commending me that would condemn me and I don’t want that. I want to be an evergreen actor. Look at the likes of Oga Bello and Prince Jide Kosoko, they started in 1964 and they are still relevant today. At the time they started, I was just a year old.”

Although he might be seen as someone to be feared on set, the actor confided in Saturday Beats that he is the exact opposite at home. He said his wife is his harshest critic when he does not play a romantic role convincingly.

“My wife knows who I am to the extent that if I do not romance a woman properly in a play, she would ask me why I did not kiss her well. I have always had her support and that has given me the guts to go to any length in a romantic scene.

He told Saturday Beats that he and his sons are best of friends.

“If I give you any of my son’s phone number, he would tell you that I am his best friend in the house. I have two boys but when I get home, we all play like three boys in the house. My sons see me more as a friend; in fact, when they were still toddlers, I used to call them best friends. I have never flogged my children. I am fortunate to have good children who listen to us. Their mother is the tough one; she is the one with the iron hand,” Laniyan said.

Veteran actor Yemi Solade has reacted after an aspiring actress identified as Lawal Dolapo, accused him of ‘soliciting sex’ from her in exchange for a movie role.

According to Lawal Dolapo, pictured above, Eniola Omoshalewa’s revelation gave her confidence to tell her story. She wrote on Instagram:

Years ago when the drive to become an actor was high, I believed in myself so much, I was going for auditions, getting call backs and anytime I was called on to set, something about school will set in.

I saw this man’s page, I mean the almighty @yemi_solade and I noticed he had his BBM pin on his bio, as a hustling girl, I sent him request, he accepted, it felt like heaven on earth, I felt like my prayers were about to be answered. I sent him accolades first, you know na, next thing I said, sir, I’ll like to be featured in movies, he said that’s not a problem, I should meet him up somewhere around Ajah. Cross-checking the address, it was a guest house, I said, sir, you are like my father (I was about 20yrs old then), uncle said and I quote “I know my children, and you are not one. If you want a role, then come”Emi Arike, if I’ll sleep with a man for something, then it’s not going to be something I can get by myself. I was shook!!! Mehn!!! The same man that flaunts his family on his page? That day I told myself, these nollywood actors can never be trusted.

Banky W Undergoes Third Surgery For Rare Cancer Of The Shoulder  [PHOTOS]

Popular Nigerian singer and actor Bankole Wellington aka Banky W  has shared details of a rare type of cancer he’s currently battling.

In an Instagram post the singer shared today, he wrote:

A wise man once said this: “Scars. A sign that you had been hurt. A sign that you had been healed.” Scroll through the pictures to see mine.

I’m sharing these because they’re proof of what God has brought me through. And because somewhere out there, I know there’s someone who needs to hear this.

For those who’ve been wondering why I’ve been away so long..I had my 3rd surgery on a rare strain of skin cancer tumours in my shoulder last month. The first 2 times were over 10 yrs ago, then it recently resurfaced. But this isn’t a sad story as much as it is a reminder, and a testimony.

A reminder that you should never take life for granted. You only get 1 shot. Some people went to sleep and never woke up. Many others have lost the battle to cancer and other illnesses. Many are still fighting. U never know when your time will be up so don’t waste another minute. It’s also a testimony about the goodness of God. I think I had to go through this again to remember how merciful God is to me; Lord knows I don’t deserve it but He saves me time and again anyway. I keep saying I need to write a book. I really, really do.

The past few weeks of recovery have been tough, but beautiful. I’m finally back on my feet, feeling stronger and ready to get back to life. I’m especially thankful to my Nurse Susu for loving me and being by my side every step of the way – I don’t deserve U 😍😭, my parents & siblings, in-laws & close friends for the love, support and prayers, my Pastors – Pastor Tony Rapu & Pastor Del Balogun of TPH, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya and Pastor Bayo Adeyokunnu – for constantly praying with and for me. And of course to Dr Wodajo & Dr Miralli & their teams – who God used to operate on me successfully.

I’m thankful for life, provision and healing. Pls dont feel bad, or msg me with any worries.. God has done it, just thank Him for me.

The pain will eventually go away but the scar won’t – and I’m glad because it’s a reminder to me of what God has done, and evidence to you of what He CAN do. I’m not stronger or better than anyone. I’m just a living testimony that no matter what u face, U can survive & thrive, by God’s grace.

Nollywood Actress Omoni Oboli Narrates How Her Family Escaped Death After Her House Caught Fire [VIDEO]

Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli has narrated how God saved her family from a fire incident.

She said the fire started from her air conditioning unit before spreading to other parts of her room.

She shared a video of the aftermath of the fire, writing:

“This God is too good! Magnify the Lord with me my people! Still shook but I’m constantly in awe of my King! God loves me. Nobody can tell me otherwise!

Since after the series of incidences that happened earlier in the year, I sometimes have panic attacks so my darling ever dependable @tomesadeoye abandoned her room and has been sleeping in mine. I’ve been nursing a very bad cold for days so I took night nurse to enable sleep.

Power went off at some point in the night and Tomi who usually can sleep in heat, got uncomfortable and couldn’t sleep. I on the other hand didn’t notice because I was in a drug induced sleep.

Around 5am, power came back on and Tomi happily fell asleep. She hadn’t slept for long when she started perceiving something, she opened her eyes to see the AC engulfed in flames. She screamed at me to wake up. I saw the flames and screamed ‘The blood of Jesus’. Ran into the bathroom to get water but I didn’t think I was fast enough, so I abandoned it cos I realized the AC is right by the door and if it gets any worse, I wouldn’t be able to leave the room.

I told Tomi to call the editor (I have an editing suite in my home and we are editing WOS so the editor moved in) she screamed his name and he came rushing upstairs. We all ran downstairs to get the fire extinguisher, couldn’t operate it and proceeded to turn off electricity from the circuit breaker. Tomi went back up and screamed that the fire was a lot worse.

Idris (the editor) and Paul (my gateman) started carrying buckets of water and soap upstairs. By this time, they couldn’t even get into the room because the fire was too much. They started pouring water from the door.

I want to say that we definitely had angelic assistance because in less than 10 mins, they put out an electrical fire with water and soap! I know God sent His angels
God has been too good to me this year! I’m so unworthy of His grace upon my life. I’m so unfaithful yet He remains faithful! I bow before your majesty my Father. All that I am, all I will ever be, I give to you Lord. Thank God for our lives. If we had woken up just 3 minutes after we did, we would not have been able to leave the room. #ChildOfGrace #GodIsGood.”

Actress Caroline Danjuma Reveals She And Tagbo Were Lovers And Why She Accused Davido Over Tagbo’s Death

Few days ago, Nollywood actress Caroline Danjuma called Out popular  Musician Davido over the death of One Mr Tagbo Umeike a where she alleged that Davido and his crew dumped his corpse at One of the General Hospitals in Lagos and ran away.
In an interview with SDK Blog,  Caroline ex wife to billionaire Musa Danjuma revealed she was dating Tagbo.
She also addressed Tagbo being her daughters father and says she cannot be blackmailed into silence with lies….
Read excerpts from the interview below:

SDK: Caroline, You recently cried out about your friend Tagbo dying, can you tell us what is going and why you called out Davido.

CAROLINE:  Hello Stella.I really cant believe that I am talking about Tagbo like this because he was not one who liked publicity.
Firstly I would like to address this whole razzmatazz about David killing Tagbo and that i said so,i never said but yes,i did call out Davido to know the whereabouts of Tagbo but i never said he killed him,i never used that word”Killed Tagbo”.
The last time i heard from Tagbo was on Monday when i just got back from MFM Church praise and worship which took about 7-8 hours Around part 8pm to ask me where I was::I had invited him for the programme  but he didnt show up..he called and asked where i was and when i said i was home,he said he was coming over.

I was tired but didn’t want to sleep off because if Tagbo comes he would ring the bell.so i went upstairs to watch CNN to keep myself awake until he comes and for some reason i slept off and woke up by part 1am or 2am and as you know the normal ritual was to call your friends the next day when they are celebrating their birthday.
I felt bad that i had not called Tagbo because Tuesday was his birthday.I tried calling him but his number was switched off but i thought it was network and continued trying but it was switched off and i concluded that maybe his battery was down.

I sent him a text message to wish him Happy Birthday and i went to bed.

I woke up at5-6am to do my normal routine  and looked at my phone and there was no missed call or reply to my SMS:They day went on and I kept trying his number but until 3pm his number was switched off..

I was out at the Bank when Tagbos childhood friend called me and said that he wanted to talk about tagbo,he was just asking random questions.

I told him i would call him back.I am aware that Tagbo was trying to do his Schengen visa so i called the guy helping him out to ask if she had heard from him but she said Tagbo was supposed to deliver some documents but had not.
I got home and called Kola back around 4pm and this was when Kola revealed to me that Tagbo was dead…T thought it was a joke because Tagbo does not drive carelessly,he doesn’t fight,he is not one to be seen in a place where people are fighting..if he is angry he walks away.

I was confused.
I decided t call the mum to find out if he went to Anambra to see his mum like he said he would to collect some documents…So i called the mum and she said she had not seen Tagbo.

I sent the sister a message that i heard Tagbo was dead and she should help me find out if it was true. The sister replied asking ”how when and where”

and then i knew that she was unaware. So i decided to call my neighbour who was also Tagbos friend and my neighbour who was holidaying in Lebanon called me back and said that there was a bet of 200k and that Tagbo drank about 50 shots of tequila and i said that cannot be true.Tagbo cannot drink even a glass of hennessey because he has a light brain like me .

So a guy who cannot drink this much cannot finish 50 shots of tequila..Tagbo does not need 200k to do that.

He comes from a very wealthy background so he does not need that kind of bet,he is not hungry for that.I was shattered to hear such a news,I went into my office and sat down.
I tried to find out where Tagbo was and Kola said he had been trying his best to find out but that each time he calls the people would drop the phone on him or tell him they would call back.

So for one hour and despite trying severally,we had not gotten any info to where Tagbos body was or what hospital he was taken to…
Tagbos friend chucks made some calls and found out that Tagbo was taken to Lagos island.

Meanwhile someone who rented my bar told me he was with Davido at Shisha bar on Monday and then i asked him randomly ”oh then you must know tagbo” cos Davido and tagbo are close friends and the only reason tagbo would be there is if Davido was there…that is on that birthday eve

The guy confirmed he met Tagbo and that was when he knew they were birthday mate and he also said they had fun and went from there to DNA to party..this was all before i heard Tagbo had died…so my impression then was oh Tagbo was having fun and that was why he hadn’t gotten back to me..

I called the same guy when i heard tagbo had died and asked him to find out what happened and he said he was trying to but every time he called Davidos team and mentioned tagbos name they would drop the phone on him and this was what they had also done to anyone who calls and mentions his name.

Davido knew and his crew knew Tagbo was dead at as 3a.m in the morning and they did not contact anyone,Davidos PA Lati knows where Tagbo stay but did not go to the house to inform anyone.

*Breaks down crying so interview had to wait*

After we had that Tagbos body was in Lagos island Davidos crew refused to give any info and this was about past 7pm.

I contacted someone who remembers seeing davido and tagbo and DNA and remembers there was a fight.

This person also told me there was a bet and said the same thing my neighbour said but said 30 shots and not 50.

According to what was said,Tagbo drank the tequila and got intoxicated and wanted to drive his car but Davido refused and said tagbo should drive with him..that was what i heard and that they drove to G12 beach and got out leaving Tagbo in the car all locked up and that one of the crew members came back saw tagbo gasping for air…this was the info they spread out there from a supposed eye witness.
He was taken to general hospital where he was confirmed dead and they left him there…..

We went there with Nabila and Mary who can confirm what was said…We were told that he was dumped and those who brought him ran away.

The doctor told us that when the nurse were trying to fix the card, the two people that brought him ran away and their footage could not identify those who brought him and ran cos they hid their faces with caps.

They refused to tell us anything, the medical director told us that because they ran away it was now a police matter and that we should go to the police station.

I posted online asking Davido why they abandoned Tagbo on my way to the police station because i was so angry and needed answers.
I sent Davido personal messages but he didn’t reply until i called him out on the social media and he told me to take down the post and he would tell me what happened.I took down the post and told him to come to the police station but he never showed up..Tagbos family members came from far but davido and his manager did not show up.
Tagbos phone and shoes are missing and someone went on tagbos instagram and deleted all the videos he posted of being with davido on that day and eventually deleted the account.we quickly munched all the videos on snap chat…tagbo was with Dammy Krane,Davido and Asha asika.

Davido knew that tagbo was dead but kept quiet. He told the Police later that he would have spoken out if i didnt call him out on the social media..can you imagine.

Tagbo meant everything to a lot of people…his widowed mum who is recovering from an ailment ..I am pleading with anybody who has info on who drive tagbos dead body to the hospital to come forward…
We want to know what happened and how tagbo died.Davido we are not calling you a killer but we need to know hat happened to Tagbo, you owe him this because he loved you like a brother,he took you like a brother,do it for him and call out the people you assigned to drive him…Please.

 *Breaks down crying again*

They alleged that the late tagbo is baby daddy to the late Tagbo.can you confirm or deny.

I have woken up t see all sorts of allegations and it is really laughable because the whole idea is to divert the attention form the questions i am asking about what happened to Tagbo. I will address this once and for all.Number one,i met Tagbo when i was legally divorced and out of My ex’ house to start a new life…….

Yes we were dating.
My daughter is three years old and I only met Tagbo last year,so its not possible that tagbo is the father of Elizabeth.

The person who posted that info claims to have Tagbos phone and claims he went to DNA with Baba, who is baba?
Let us leave sentiments aside, trying to blackmail me to keep quiet will not work or change anything.we need justice for Tagbo..

No one is accusing anyone of being a murderer but we need to know what happened and why everyone is quiet…My anger is that he was abandoned by those supposed to be his friends and brothers.Davido and Tagbo were very close and I am angry with Davido for keeping quiet.

Those who drink tequila should come out and confirm if 30 shots of tequila is strong enough to kill..

Stop protecting whoever is guilty, someone is dead, please!
 *crying*

Caroline Danjuma Accuse Davido Of Killing His Friend Tagbo And Dumping His Corpse At General Hospital

Sultry Nollywood actress and  billionaire wife Carolyn Danjuma has accused Davido of dumping the body of a young man identified as Tagbo at General Hospital in Lagos.
In an Instagram post which she deleted almost immediately, Carolyn alleged that the young man Tagbo died in the Davido’s car last night.

According to Carolyn, Davido and his crew covered their faces with face caps, dumped the boy at the hospital and went back to club DNA where they carried on as if nothing happened.

She wrote;

Doris Simeon Believes Marriages Now Have A Time Limit

Nollywood actress, Doris Simeon is of the believe that husband’s these day are shying away from their responsibilities.

Speaking with Oge Ezeliora, Simeon shed more light on her her love life, broken marriage, new found skills as a producer and her determination never to look like an old woman.

What project are you working on at the moment?

I just produced four movies which are set to be released soon: two Yoruba movies and two English movies titled, Aseju, Soul Betrayal, Alone in the dark and Olorire.

How do you juggle being an actress and a producer?

Acting is easy. Acting is fun especially if you are focused on what you are doing. Producing a movie is challenging – you’re faced with the stress of sourcing for scripts, cast, crew and finance.

How do you feel seeing younger actresses progressing quickly in the movie industry?

The industry is wide and is expanding day by day. I am glad about this development. We must create opportunities for upcoming actresses. Nollywood is not only for Doris. I am happy that people are looking up to me. I am mentoring actors and actresses.

How did you feel the first day you had to face a camera?

I was shy the first time but after series of rehearsals, the rest is history – I focus on what I was told to do. (My first time before the camera) was for a popular television comedy called Papa Ajasco produced by Wale Adenuga Productions. I was doing that before I went into full-time acting – joining Nollywood.

Is being an actress a blessing to you?

As an actress, God has blessed me and I can’t deny it, though it has not been easy. Being an actress is the best thing that has happened to me. My gratitude goes to God first. He has always been there for me. I can’t complain that I have been robbed of my private life. My life is always out there. Above all I am happy being an actress.

How do you excel as a bilingual actress?

For Yoruba movies, the scripts come more often than the English movies. It is the same job but different languages. Shooting Yoruba movies is a bit difficult because you have a lot of job to do – translation is there. But the English movies are easy. It’s getting better now because these days, you now find actors from different circles coming together to shoot films and celebrate things together. This is something we have been longing and praying for. We thank God it’s working out well now. The English movie industry is highly competitive but the jobs are easy. If they ask me to speak English, I will speak. If they ask me to speak Yoruba in any movie, I will speak it so fluently.

Have you always had a beautiful life?

I was born in Lagos; I can say I had a sweet childhood. I was pampered loved and well taken care of by my parents. I have a diploma in Production Management from the PEFTI Film Institute owned by Wale Adenuga. My parents originated from Okpella in Benin, Edo state. My father had many wives and many children. It was a polygamous home but we were well cared for. My mother was a peaceful woman and she loved her children so much.

What is your fashion dislike?

I don’t like dressing shabbily. I don’t like dressing like an old woman. I hate tying a wrapper around my boobs – that’s a complete turn off for me. Do you know I don’t even have a single wrapper in my wardrobe?

What’s your marital status now?

I am not legally divorced – the divorce suit is still in court. Yes, I am single and I am a happy woman.

Don’t you think being a single mother is now fashionable in Nollywood?

Single motherhood is not peculiar to Nollywood. If you go to the banking sector, there are single mothers there; in the military, in law firms and other fields, there are single mothers. It is not our fault; it’s just that men no longer want to play their role as husbands. I am not a supporter of single parenthood: every man or woman has the right to live their life the way they choose. It’s just by God’s grace that I am acting and producing. Emotional trauma is not what I will encourage anybody to pass through. God created every woman for a man. So marriage is good.

Is there any possibility that you and your ex will reconcile?

I don’t dwell in the past. I don’t want to talk about that anymore. I have moved on. I have no regret at all. I have only learnt to be stronger. The truth is that I have forgotten about everything. Time has erased it (the emotional pain I went through). I am now a better person. Today, I am closer to God and I put God first in everything I do. I never gave up on love. I have found love again in Jesus. I am married to my career right now. I am in a relationship anyway but I want to be private about it. I thank God because I am a better person. My career and business are going on well.

Will you remarry?

I am single and ready to mingle. If God sends a man to me I will not reject him. I am not bored. If it’s God’s plan for me I will go ahead (and get married); if not, then I will remain single.

Do you still have a good relationship with your ex-husband and his wife?

Yes, I do.

What’s unique about you?

It’s my patience. I am also playful. I am playful to the extent that a lot of people think I am not a serious person. I am a very funny person.

Apart from acting, what else do you do?

I am into hair-dressing. I started making hair as a little girl. Now, I have fulfilled my childhood dream of owning a big salon of my own. My mom was a hair-dresser and fortunately for me, I learnt a lot from her. I have a salon at Ogba. Right now, we are also into households and interiors décor.

PHOTOS| Star Crush! The Dashing Richard Mofe-Damijo is The Ultimate ‘Daddy Yo’

Veteran Actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, is one of the oldest and most popular actors in the Nigerian movie industry. Many of us grew up to his ever smiling and handsome face on television where he constantly charmed us with a mixture of good-naturedness and man-next-door aura. While memories of his days as the most desirable man on Television are still quite fresh, we can’t help but notice that he seems to be aging like fine wine and looks better with each passing day. Or maybe it’s the grey hair?

Going through the Instagram feed of this grand-‘zaddy‘, you’ll agree that he’s definitely one of the yummiest 56-year-old men you’ve ever seen! The award-winning actor and former commissioner of culture and tourism in Delta State, Nigeria starred first in the 80s Soap Opera The Ripples after working briefly with Concord Newspaper and Metro Magazine. He then went on to star in several movies and working with some of the best stars of his time from the 1997 hit movie Out of Bounds to more recently in one of the best movies from Nollywood, The Wedding Party.

Along with his acting skills, one thing that has remained consistently stellar is his ageless sense of style. RMD’s style is effortless, contemporary and clean with a subtle dash of dapper to round off the perfect modern day cool look. And this may very well explain why ladies of all generation love RMD. If only our grandpas all looked this stunning!

Here are some of our favourite photos of him…
