Depending on your relationship status, Valentine’s Day is either that one day of the year you plan weeks in advance or you avoid it.

It’s one of the most prominent day of the year that has many people hyperaware about their relationship status, or lack thereof.

These celebrities share what Valentine means to them and their ideas for the day of love.

1). Fidelis Mbah – Aljazeera Headquarters Doha Qatar.

Every day is Valentine for me. Showering loved ones with gifts and showing affection should be a daily activity and not just for February 14. We have to show love consistently.

I am in the country to cover the elections and won’t have time to go out for a special Valentine celebration with friends and colleagues.

2). Chioma Onwutalobi – Publisher Glam Africa Magazine.

I don’t take val that seriously to be honest (restaurants and shops crammed etc, too much palava) but no harm dedicating a day to be extra lovey! dovey! I guess

I’m spending mine doing exactly what I do everyday. Work in the day, rest in the evening.

3). Martins Ifijeh – Health Correspondent For Thisday Newspaper.

Valentines day is a special day to show love and appreciate your partner.

This year, it’s just like every other day to me, as I will be in the office Working.

So nothing special really. Its better celebrated when you are in love.

4). Uchechukwu Okolie – Actress and Beautician

Valentine doesn’t really mean anything to me. To me, every day is Valentine. “Self-care has become a big focus for me since 2018. This year, I’ve taken it a little bit more serious by really just showing love to myself.

5). Francess Olisa-Ogbonnaya – OAP at Kiss FM Lagos and Presenter Orugo TV

Valentine to me means nothing because I am yet to comprehend the concept but from general perceptions, it connotes love…. A connotation I still find faulty!

I am obviously not celebrating it because as a broadcast journalist majoring in politics and current affairs, I am more interested in the 2019 general elections and not Valentine.

6). Arazu Okaro – Designer Xray Clothings

I don’t really know the origin of Valentine that much. To me, it’s just a day of HYPE.

I’m not celebrating it.

7). Princess Chaddy – Movie Producer and Cinematographer at MNET Africa

When i hear the word Valentine’s Day, i think of love. Not only the love between a boy and a girl, but love for mankind.

Princess Chaddy’s first movie as a producer ”DROWNING THE MOVIE” will be premiered in London on April 20th 2019.
