Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, has died more than two weeks after he tested positive for coronavirus COVID-19.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, announced Mr Kyari’s death on Twitter at 12:44 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

Garba Shehu, the special assistant on media and publicity to President Buhari, said Kyari died of Coronavirus con Friday.

Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari, also confirmed the passing of the former Chief of Staff.

KanyiDaily recalls that on March 24, 2020, Abba Kyari tested positive for coronavirus after he visited Germany in early March.

The presidency did not deny or confirm the rumours at the time following speculations about his whereabouts. It was only after his death that Shehu confirmed that the former chief of staff had died of coronavirus on Friday.

  1. God is not a man! Abba Kyari died here in Nigeria, unable to travel for medical.

    They brought in those Chinese Specialists basically because of him (quote me) but the Supreme Being (God) is the giver and taker of life. Fix our Health Sector and Stop by looting Nigeria. Those who live by
