“58 In Lagos, 46 In Kano” – Nigeria Records 193 New Coronavirus Cases As Total Rises To 5162

Nigeria has just confirmed 193 new cases of COVID-19 across 35 states of the country.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 193 new confirmed cases of coronavirus on Thursday, May 14, 2020, bringing the total number of infection in the country to 5,162.

According to the NCDC on Twitter, the new cases were recorded in Lagos, Kano, Jigawa, Yobe, FCT, Ogun, Plateau, Gombe, Imo, Edo, Kwara, Borno, Bauchi, Nasarawa and Ondo.

A total of 110 recoveries were recorded, increasing the figure from 1,070 to 1,180, while fatalities increased from 164 to 170.

“On the 14th of May 2020, 193 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria. No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

“Till date, 5162 cases have been confirmed, 1180 cases have been discharged and 167 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The 193 new cases are reported from 15 states.”

The NCDC explained that two cases reported yesterday from Kaduna were repeat tests.

“Therefore, Kaduna has a total of 114 confirmed cases. We apologise to @contactkdsg and remain committed to ensuring the release of accurate & reliable data,” it said.
