“280 In Lagos, 103 In Oyo” – Nigeria Records 745 New Cases Of Coronavirus As Total Hits 18,480

Nigeria has recorded 745 new cases of COVID-19, bringing to 18,480 the number of confirmed cases in the country.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 745 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 18,480.

In a tweet on Thursday night, NCDC said Lagos State had the highest number of infections for the day with 280 cases and is followed by Oyo and Ebonyi states with 103 and 72 cases respectively.

Other states with new cases are: FCT (60); Imo (46); Edo (34); Delta (33); Rivers (25); Kaduna (23); Ondo (16); Katsina (12); Kano (10); Bauchi (8); Borno (7); Kwara (5); Gombe (4); Sokoto (2); Enugu (2); Yobe (1); Osun (1), and Nasarawa (1).

The NCDC said a total of 340 people were discharged, increasing the number of recoveries from 5,967 to 6,307, while 475 total deaths have been recorded.

“On the 18th of June 2020, 745 new confirmed cases and 6 deaths were recorded in Nigeria. No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

“The 745 new cases are reported from 21 states; Lagos-280, Oyo-103, Ebonyi-72, FCT-60, Imo-46, Edo-34, Delta-33, Rivers-25, Kaduna-23, Ondo-16, Katsina-12, Kano-10, Bauchi-8, Borno-7, Kwara-5, Gombe-4, Sokoto-2, Enugu-2, Yobe-1, Osun-1, Nasarawa-1.

“Till date, 18480 cases have been confirmed, 6307 cases have been discharged and 475 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory,” NCDC said.
