“42 In Lagos, 25 In Plateau” – Nigeria Records 155 New Coronavirus Cases As Total Rises To 55,160

Nigeria now has 55,160 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 155 new cases recorded on Monday.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 155 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 55,160.

The NCDC made this known on Monday night via its Twitter handle, where it disclosed that Lagos State recorded the highest number of infections with 42 cases, followed by Plateau State with 25 cases.

Other states with new COVID-19 cases includes Rivers-16, Ebonyi-10, Abia-9, Ogun-9, FCT-9, Osun-7, Katsina-6, Kaduna-6,Ekiti-4, Taraba-4, Edo-3, Anambra-2, Akwa Ibom-2, Kano-1.

The NCDC also revealed that 43,231 patients have now been discharged across the country, with 1,061 patients losing their lives to the coronavirus pandemic.

“On the 7th of September 2020, 155 new confirmed cases and 4 deaths were recorded in Nigeria,” NCDC said.

The 155 new cases are reported from 16 states- Lagos (42), Plateau (25), Rivers (16), Ebonyi (10), FCT(9), Abia (9), Ogun (9), Osun (7), Katsina (6), Kaduna (6), Ekiti (4), Taraba (4), Edo (3), Anambra (2), Akwa Ibom (2), Kano (1).

“Till date, 55160 cases have been confirmed, 43231 cases have been discharged and 1061 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.”
