Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba and wife Diakate end their 10 years marriage

Former Chelsea player, Didier Drogba has revealed that his marriage with Lalla Diakate is over after ten years.

The 42-year-old Ivorian met the Malian in 1990 in Paris and they got married in 2011 with the marriage blessed with three children.

Drogba had been keeping his private life out of the media but was forced to make a statement regarding his relationship with Diakate after he was spotted in a saucy photo and video with an unknown woman.

In the video which a representative claimed it was hacked, Drogba and the lady were seen playing as she jokingly bites his shoulder.

Drogba then speak to her in French, he said:

“She’s positive! She’ll infect me by biting me!”

Confirming his divorce with Diakate, he wrote:

“I’m not in the habit of discussing my private life. But, because of speculation in the media today, I can confirm that sadly, after 20 years together, Lalla and I took the difficult decision to separate last year.

“We remain very close, and our main priorities have been to protect our children and our family’s private life. May God bless you.”

KanyiDaily had earlier reported that Drogba was robbed in Ivory Coast with €7,500 (£6,400) stolen from him in his hotel room.
