Nollywood comic actor, Kunle Adetokunbo, popularly called Dejo Tunfulu, has died a few days after attending a birthday party with his colleagues in the movie industry.

Dejo Tunfulu Is Dead

The Yoruba actor reportedly died at the age of 49 on Thursday night, March 31, and his death was confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday.

Bolaji Amusan, National President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), was in shock and emotional about the development.

Speaking with NAN, Amusan said the sad occurrence was shocking because Adetokunbo attended a party three days ago.

He said, “Yes, we lost Dejo Tunfulu, I am so shocked because he still attended a party three days ago. May God grant him eternal rest, the association will communicate to the public further.”

Another Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, also confirmed that he saw Tunfulu at a birthday party four days ago.

“I’m hearing this from you, I haven’t turned on my internet, this is shocking to me; we were together at a birthday party about four days ago, if I am not mistaken.

“This is so sad, he was a hardworking person, may God console his immediate family and grant us his colleagues and friends the fortitude to bear the loss,” Hasssan said.

The deceased, who was born on May 31, 1972, shot into limelight for his role in the movie titled: “Omo Oran”, featuring the veteran actor Fatai Adetayo (Lalude).

His death comes a few months after another veteran Nollywood comic actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, passed away at the age of 64.
