Nyesom Wike, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, has sacked his entire cabinet members.
The dissolution of the State Executive Council is said to take effect from today, Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Assistant on Media, the Chief of Staff to the Governor and Senior Special Assistants were all stripped of their duties.
Wike applauded the members of Rivers State Executive Council for “their service and contribution to the development of the State” and “wished them the best in all their future endeavours.”
He further urged the ex-cabinet members to diligently hand over to the most senior officers in their respective offices.
At the time of filing this report, the reason for the drastic action taken by the Governor is yet to be known.
