It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday at the Adeniji end of Isale Eko after the former Lagos State Governor visited the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu.

Tinubu was reportedly heading to his Bourdillon Avenue, Ikoyi residence from the palace when the hoodlums wielding swords and cutlasses, threw stones at the bus conveying the press crew and security team on the convoy.

Although Tinubu was not affected, One of the injured reporters said that many of her colleagues who sustained injuries in the attack have received medical treatment.

“Our bus was damaged, so most of us sustained various injuries on our bodies. One of us even had his phone stolen. It was a terrible experience. We have been given medical attention and tomorrow I will be at the hospital.”

“All the glasses were broken and some journalists were injured. The ambulance in front of the press crew bus was also destroyed,” the journalists simply identified as Ayo said.

Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Sunday after the Ekiti State governorship election and was received at the Presidential Wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Ikeja before proceeding to the palace of the Oba of Lagos.
