In a botched robbery during a high-speed chase in Rio, a Brazilian influencer was shot dead in front of her boyfriend and their two-year-old son.
On Sunday night, May 21, Luanne Jardim was seated in the passenger seat of her car while her boyfriend, Joo Farche, attempted to flee from the suspects, according to Mail Online.
As the couple’s son, Miguelzinho Farche, looked on, the 33-year-old was struck on the shoulder. She was sent to the Salgado Filho Municipal Hospital and died there.

The Rio de Janeiro Military Police have stated that the incident is being investigated as an attempted robbery, but Jardim’s father believes she was executed.

‘Certainly, this was not a simple heist or robbery,’ said Atanael Jardim, according to Brazilian news site G1.
‘This was a homicide because no one inside a car would hijack the other and shoot from within with the window closed.’

According to the police report, the suspects shot at the back of the vehicle before approaching it from the side and shooting at Jardim again.
Her death occurred roughly 15 days after she traded in her bulletproof Porsche for another vehicle that did not have armoured protection.
