Bundesliga: Boniface nominated for Rookie of the Month award

Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen is vying for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month title.

Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen from Union St Gilloise in the Belgian Pro League this summer.

This season, the Nigerian international has been one of the finest players in the Bundesliga.

In two appearances for Bayer Leverkusen in August, the 22-year-old scored twice and assisted one.

Noah Atubolu, a Nigerian-born goalkeeper for SC Freiburg, is also nominated for the award.

In three league games for Freiburg in August, Atubolu maintained one clean sheet.

Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig is the second player nominated for the honor.
