Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal’s captain, has been suspended for Monday’s Euro 2024 qualifying match against Luxembourg.
On Friday, the Al-Nassr attacker received a yellow card in their 1-0 win over Slovakia.
Ronaldo was fortunate to escape further punishment when a wayward boot struck ex-Manchester United teammate Martin Dubravka in the face.
However, referee Glenn Nyberg chose to show only a yellow card, and Ronaldo escaped a VAR review.
Ronaldo is now suspended after receiving his third yellow card of the European Championship qualification campaign.
Kanyidaily recalls that Cristiano Ronaldo became first player to score 850 career goals last week.
