Nigerian singer, Spyro has spoken out about deception among those in high religious positions, calling them “the biggest scammers and liars.”
Spyro, who spoke via his Instagram story, claimed they commit wrongdoing while using religious scriptures to justify their actions and manipulate others through emotional blackmail and threats.
He shared a personal experience where he confronted someone for mistreating him, only for the person to respond by quoting religious scriptures while also threatening to release a sex tape and spreading rumors that a woman was pregnant for him.
Spyro mockingly told the blackmailers to go ahead and release the tape, saying he was eager to see it himself. However, despite their threats, the tape has never been released.
The singer also expressed frustration over how people often encourage victims to stay silent instead of addressing the wrongdoing.
He believes this culture of silence enables oppression and corruption, contributing to the problems Nigeria faces today.
Spyro warned that oppressors do not want people to speak out, which is why injustice continues unchecked.
He stated, “Don’t be deceived, the biggest scams and liars are the ones at the top of religious ladders. They perpetrate evil and quote holy books to support their wrongs and then the emotional games and then threats. The deception is on another level. Beware of people in shinny positions.
“I once called someone out for wrongdoing me, next day, the person started confessing scriptures and in the same vein, sending threat messages about releasing sex tapes as how they have a girl claiming she’s pregnant for me. I sent messager back to tell them to release the tapes…I can’t wait to watch the tapes. Jesus boy tape GOLD. Till date dem never release am o …Rubbish.”
“In the same vein, people calling me left, right and center to let it go and I sincerely appreciate every single one of them as they are only after my well being but then nothing done till date about it … This is how evil continues to thrive because we keep quiet and the result is the Nigeria we have today. OPPRESSORS DONT WANT YOU SPEAKING.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Spyro recently expressed frustration about being a celebrity in Lagos, revealing that people often pressure him for favors, and if he declines, he faces insults.
