Nollywood actro, Jim Iyke has been conferred with a chieftaincy title in Accra, Ghana.
The 45-year-old movie star was honoured with the title of, ‘Ohadike 1 of Ndigbo” by His Royal Highness, the Eze Ndigbo Ghana, Dr. Chukwudi Ihenetu.
The coronation took place an occasion on September 18 during an event marking the tenth new yam festival in Accra.
The organisers of the event said Jim Iyke’s “servitude and dedication to the Igbo tribe” earned him dignity.
“Also it is in recognition of his enormous contributions and charity work for his people. He was fully welcomed and appreciates the Igbo community in Ghana for the support rendered to him,” they said.
Igwe Ihenetu said Iyke was recognised for his achievements and contributions to the African entertainment industry and the Igbo people.
