Dr. David’s massive artwork, covering 850 square meters, has exceeded the previous record of 629.98 square meters held by Ravi Soni of India.
The drawing, titled “Unity in Diversity,” highlights Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups through their clothing, languages, culture, and art.
David started his attempt on July 16 and finished on July 21. As of now, Guinness World Records has not yet confirmed the record.
Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Dr. Fola David on X, calling him a symbol of excellence and service.
He wrote: “From the challenging days of the pandemic where he was a #COVID19Hero at our Onikan Isolation Centre to breaking world records at our Onikan Stadium (Mobolaji Johnson Arena), Dr. Fola David has been a beacon of excellence and service.
“Congratulations on creating the world’s largest hand-drawing by an individual, ‘Unity in Diversity.’ Lagos is proud!

Dr. Fola David’s accomplishment has also been recognized by notable Nigerians, including Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
