The Management of Financial institution United Bank For Africa have a huge task to contend with.
A policy expected to boost their profile has backfired. The bank recently issued a statement that all customers must retain a minimum balance of twenty five thousand Naira (N25,000) In their account and this has attracted wide spread condemnation as this bank started with students, pensioners funds and students as their backbone and capital base.
This condemnation led C.B.N to issue a statement citing it wasnt informed informed before the decision was taken and it was presently investigating what led them to come up with such decision.
The statement by C.B.N have fueled the controversy and in a bid to play safe many customers has started withdrawing their money inorder not to be caught unawares.
