The lawmaker representing Kogi West at the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye has turned down an appointment to serve as Director-General of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign in his State.
The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan had, on Friday, told journalists that Melaye has been appointed the DG of Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council.
But Melaye took to his Twitter handle and his Facebook wall to declare his rejection of the offer.
“Let me state categorically that I have turned down the position of Director-General of the PDP Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council.
“I wish PDP all the best. When truth is a casualty, there is chaos,” Melaye said in a tweet.
Melaye had contested and lost the PDP governorship primary election to Musa Wada.
He thereafter rejected the result and has since fallen out with the party hierarchy in Kogi State.
He alleged that only two out of 10 ballot boxes were declared his votes and are “totally unacceptable.”
