Delta Police Says Force Cannot Pronounce Judgement On Offenders

The command stated this in a terse statement posted on its official twitter handle on Tuesday morning.

It said pronouncing judgements and giving punishments rest solely with the courts.

The command lamented that while this is the case in reality, most complainants always call to complain.

It said “Police cannot make an arrest, investigate and at the same time pronounce Judgement and punish offenders. it’s the duty of the court to pronounce Judgement on cases and give punishment to offenders but most complainants always call to complain why?”

Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily had reported that the Lagos State police command said it will never beg people to obey the law, adding that the law must be enforced.
