Emir Of Dutse, Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi Is Dead

The Emir of Dutse in Jigawa State, Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi has died at age of 78.

It was gathered that the prominent monarch died after a brief illness at an Abuja hospital on Tuesday January 31, 2023.

Jigawa State Governor, Mohammed Badaru in a statement on Tuesday, expressed his condolences on the passing of the monarch.

The governor described the late Emir as a “true leader and a respected figure in the community, known for his wisdom, compassion, and dedication to the well-being of his people”.

He also recognised the late Emir’s contributions to the growth and development of Dutse and the positive impact he had on the community.

Badaru offered his thoughts and prayers to the late Emir’s family and loved ones during this difficult time and said that the late Emir’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.

May the soul of the late Emir rest in peace and may the memories of his life bring comfort and solace to those he leaves behind,” the statement concluded.

The late emir was appointed pioneer Chancellor of the Sokoto State University, Sokoto, by a former Governor of the state, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

Born in 1945 at Yargaba village in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State, Dr Sanusi attended Dutse Elementary School from 1952 to 1956.

After his post primary education, he obtained a National Certificate in Education from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and later a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in International Business from Ohio University, United States of America.

He further obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Analysis from Bradford University, United Kingdom.

The emir was awarded an honorary PhD in Management by the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State.

He acquired substantial experience in agricultural consultancy and industrial and commercial management after working for several years.

KanyiDaily had also reported how Emir of Bauchi’s younger brother, Ibrahim Suleiman Adamu, was found dead in his house at the palace.
