Davido spoke during a Hiptv panel discussion with the United States Advisory Council on Africa Diaspora Engagement and leaders in Nigeria’s creative industries.
The singer said that Afrobeats artists are now selling as many tickets as Drake, pointing out that the earnings from a single song can create wealth that lasts for generations.
“Afrobeats Artists are selling the same tickets as Drake. Now one song as an afrobeat artist can change your generation,” he said.
Davido encouraged young artists to collaborate with each other instead of seeking international features, emphasizing that “When you collaborate with your friends, they give it their all.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Davido had confidently declared himself the ‘King of Afrobeats’ while speaking about his influence on the African music landscape.
