The video, which quickly spread across social media, sparked outrage due to the graphic nature of his story.
In the video, Speed Darlington spoke in Igbo, describing an incident from ten years ago involving teenage girl whose first sexual experience allegedly caused bloodstains on hotel bedsheets.
He said he paid hotel staff N2,000 to change the sheets and used the story to explain why he only works for himself.
“Before they could come change the sheets for me, I had to give N2,000. Because the thing is somehow, to tell an adult to come and clean blood that I brought out of the body of a 15-year-old girl. I can never work for anybody, lai lai. I only work for myself,” he said.
Following the outrage, Speed Darlington returned to social media on Wednesday with a follow-up video.
In the clip, the rapper claimed the story wasn’t real and was only meant to grab attention for his new music.
He said, “All my followers pissed off about the video I recorded in which I spoke about me sleeping with a 15-year-old.
‘I am an artist. I need controversy to eat. If you are not trending, you are not getting booked. Simple! Nobody is booking something that is not trending.”
He went on to say his latest song has explicit content, and that he needed something equally provocative to get people talking about it.
“I have a new song now. The song is talking about f#ck this, f#ck that. This is my genre. I do not perform Christian music. When I dropped my song, I needed f#ck contents to push it,. That is what I was doing. Don’t give it more like than it is supposed to have.
“If any of you are offended, it’s alright. Apologies.” Speed Darlington said.
KanyiDaily recalls that Speed Darlington was previously exposed by a slay queen who he is making sexual advances toward on social media.
