“Freezing Your Eggs Doesn’t Prevent You From Getting Infected With HIV/AIDS” – Sarah Martins Tells Ashmusy

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has weighed in on a recent statement by skit maker Ashmusy about egg freezing.

Ashmusy had earlier announced that she decided to freeze her eggs to avoid feeling pressured to marry because of age.

The skitmaker described it as a personal step to secure her chances of becoming a mother in the future.

Reacting on her Instagram, Sarah Martins said that while egg freezing can help with fertility planning, it does not shield women from sexually transmitted infections like HIV/AIDS or other health risks.

She stressed that conversations around such choices should also highlight the importance of overall sexual health and safety.

The actress appreciated Ashmusy for bringing attention to egg freezing but reminded women that it does not replace the need for protection.

She said, “Dear Ashmusy, Thank you for educating women on egg freezing. But, please remind them that freezing their eggs to prevent an unwanted pregnancy doesn’t prevent them from getting infected with HIV/AIDS and other diseases that come with careless bedmatics.

“It is better to freeze your eggs than give birth to unplanned children. But it doesn’t prevent you from getting infections, my queens. Still use protection. Protect yourself always. Kudos to my boo @ashmusy”.
