In a recent interview, the music star explained that his parents were initially suspicious about the source of his wealth, especially after he bought his first house in 2019 at age 25 as a gift for them following his breakthrough.
“My parents refused to live in the first house I bought in Lekki because they thought it was fraud money… I had to print my account statement to show them I am being honest,” Zlatan Ibile said.
He also talked about his strict upbringing, saying his parents continued to set rules for him even as an adult, revealing that they enforced curfews and controlled aspects of his lifestyle despite his success.
“They later told me that if they have to come, they will do a seven days prayers to confirm if it’s from God. When they finally agreed to move in, they gave me a condition that I would also live with them,” he added.
Zlatan’s story has sparked reactions online, with many people relating to the strict nature of African parenting, while others praised his parents for guiding him responsibly despite his fame and wealth.
KanyiDaily had reported how Zlatan Ibile showered his baby mama, Davita Lamai, with gifts on her 27th birthday.
