The Story Of Actress Ini Edo!

Iniobong Edo may be the biggest actress Akwa Ibom State and indeed the South-South can boast of at the moment but those who know her say the name Edo is not her real name as she may have been ashamed of bearing her father’s name.

We gather from close family sources that the star actress’s surname is not Edo and wondered how she got the name.

The source who spoke to us swear that her father, though happy with her success, is not very comfortable with her for changing his name and rubbishing his family name.

We learnt that her real surname is Ekim (Darkness) while she was still struggling to break into the industry, she believed that a name as dark as darkness would not augur well with her, hence she first changed the name to Unwana(Light) .But later, she was advised by some friends to look for a more funkified name and after thinking for sometime, she decided to settle for the name Edo which to her,is sweet and sharp and does not have to do with darkness at all.

But be that as it may, the name has opened doors for her and no one is sure if a name like Ekim would not have brought her down.
