Worried
by the new dimension the crisis had assumed in recent times which has led to the
killing of over 52 persons including pregnant women and children within 10 days,
the CAN president said Jonathan must reassure Nigerians that he has the capacity
to guarantee their safety in any part of the country by urgently halting the
madness taking place in Plateau State.

decisive measures to stop what he described as “madness in Plateau State in the

Nigerians desired peace but “such peace could only come about through
justice.”

disadvantages, adding that if the government could no longer guarantee the
safety of lives and property of Nigerians, then the National Assembly should
immediately enact a law to make every Nigerian to carry arms for self
protection.

into the Jos crisis, adding; “Nigerians desire peace in every part of the
country, but peace can only be built on justice. Until we see the need to tell
ourselves some truth, it will be difficult for the country to actualise its
dream of becoming one of the 20 most developed economies in the world in
2020.”
