Goalkeeper David de Gea might earn £70k-a-week
at Manchester United, but the 20-year-old star allegedly pinched a £1.19
doughnut from Tesco.
The Spaniard is alleged to have picked up the
Original Glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut and eaten it in the magazine aisle before
walking towards the exit without paying, or buying anything else from the
store.
It is claimed he was caught on CCTV stealing the
snack from Tesco Extra in Altrincham, Greater Manchester..De Gea, who was with two Spanish friends, was
apparently stopped by security staff and taken into their ‘stop and search’ room
for questioning, according to a tabloid.
The security guards who monitor the CCTV watched
two of them take a doughnut each out of the Krispy Kreme
cabinet.
Incredibly, they then appeared to try to leave
without paying – or buying anything else for that matter.’
The source added that the goalkeeper looked
‘embarrassed’ when he was taken away by security staff.
