A bomb was about 30 minutes ago detonated at Emir Of Kano’s mosque in central municipal area of Kano. (Central mosque Kano)

The bomb went off during the usual friday prayers and from what my source in Kano says, the casualty figures are high and kids are majority of the victims.

More details to follow shortly.

UPDATE 1: Serious shooting going on now around Fagge area!

UPDATE 2: The mosque is adjacent to the palace of Emir of Kano and the Emir normally leads the Friday prayers. It’s not yet known if the Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was present at the time of the explosion!

UPDATE 3: The Emir who usually leads the prayers was absent at the time of the explosion!
