Fantasia Opens Up About Marrying Her Husband 3 Weeks After Meeting Him

They say when you know you know.. Despite being a superstar and having millions of dollars in the bank, American Idol winner, Fantasia Barrino met a man and married him just three weeks later.

In the latest issue of Billboard magazine, the singer details her rough start in the industry and how she’s personally grown.  With a bevy of of No. 1 hits and a stint on Broadway’s The Color Purple, Barrino now opens up about current life and relationship..

Her personal love life became the talk of the town back in 2010 when she attempted suicide after breaking up with the father of her second child, Antwaun Cook.

But with the help of loved ones, self-help books and music, she came back and instantaneously fell in love………Very quickly.

At the same time, back home in Charlotte, she was experiencing a whirlwind romance with Taylor, 35. “Everything changed when I met him,” she says. The connection was instantaneous: Just three weeks after meeting at a local club, the pair wed in 2015. The brief courtship was intense, ­fulfilling —and ­celibate; they didn’t consummate the ­relationship until their wedding night, she ­confides. “I just knew [he was the one]. I was getting ready to go on the road, and he got on his knees and said, ‘Can I pray for you? I just want to cover for you down the road.’ In the time I’d been fasting from relationships, I asked God for ­someone to pray for me— someone that could cover me and my kids [Dallas, 4, and Zion, 14] and be the man of the house. That’s when I knew.” A year later, she says she’s never felt stronger.
