The Nigerian football delegation to the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil, were recently stranded in Atlanta, a situation which caused serious outrage among Nigerians.
Responding to the issue, the Sports Minister, Barrister Solomon Dalung held a press conference.
In the conference, while trying to state that the Nigerian footballers were stranded in the United States of America, he mistakenly said ‘United States of Nigeria’.
A video of the incident quickly went viral on social media and many Nigerians proceeded to bash the minister on twitter.
The term ‘United States of Nigeria’ has become a popular one on social media.
Now, a Nigerian has hilariously designed what he called ‘The new flag of the United States of Nigeria’.
