Thailand’s King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the world’s longest-reigning monarch, has died after 70 years on the throne.
The 88 year old king was widely revered and deeply loved in Thailand. He was seen as a stabilizing figure in a country hit by cycles of political turmoil and multiple coups.
King Bhumibol, the ninth king of the 234-year-old Chakri dynasty, died at the Siriraj Hospital in the capital Bangkok.
