Corruption Fight: Only God Can Punish PDP For Looting Nigeria Dry – President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari lamented over the alleged massive corruption under the watch of the previous administrations in the country, with a subtle curse that only God will punish the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for looting the country dry.

President Buhari had promised to fix security, revive an ailing economy and fight corruption during the 2015 electioneering campaigns. But ever since he defeated then-incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan, of the PDP to win the 2015 presidential election, he and members of his governing All Progressives Congress (APC) never miss the opportunity to remind Nigerians that they are having it difficult, only because the PDP overturned the treasury from 1999 to 2015.

According to Vanguard, When President Buhari received some members of his support groups at the Presidential Villa, Abuja., he was furious that the PDP abused the people’s trust on a large scale and stole Nigeria blind for 16 years, while promising that he is on a mission to recover what was stolen and prosecute the looters. He said:

“Large scale abuse of trust, only God can give them punishment. But those we can touch, we will get them prosecuted.

The president also said that his administration has confiscated looted properties and that he had ordered that the confiscated looted properties be sold while the funds generated would be used by the government.

“We have said properties confiscated should be sold and the money put into the treasury and we will use.”

“I have said this for the umpteenth time and I have challenged them to prove me wrong. In those 16 years of PDP rule, Nigeria was getting 2.1 million times 100 (2.1 million barrels by $100 per barrel) everyday, but when we came on board, the price fell to between $37-38 and hung around $40-$50.

“I went to the Central Bank of Nigeria and asked him for money and he said there was no money.”
