The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Ben Bako, the Director, Media and Publicity, Kaduna State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Organisation.
It was gathered that Ben Bako was arrested by security operatives in Kaduna and has been taken to Abuja headquarters of the DSS, for questioning over the hate speech he made during the PDP campaign in Kafachan last week.
Last week, Mr. Bako was caught on camera inciting violence in the elections during PDP campaign rally in Kaduna State, that his party members and supporters should deal with all those who go against or vote against the interest of the PDP during the election.
Thought it is not clear if the arrest is related to the video, however the All Progressives Congress (APC), supporters had earlier called for his arrest over the incitement.
Reacting to the arrest, the PDP Deputy Campaign Director-General, Ashiru/Marshal governorship Campaign Organisation, Mr.Danjuma Sarki alleged that the arrest “was orchestrated to persecute and silence the opposition in the last days of the election.”
