Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has announced that some sections of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway would be closed from September 2nd to October 31, 2019, to facilitate the ongoing construction work on the road.
LASTMA announced this in a travel advisory released on Sunday, while explaining that a portion of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will be shutdown for reconstruction, signalling a harrowing traffic experience for travellers between the two cities.
In a bid to control traffic, a circular has been released containing the road diversion that would ease the traffic congestion during the period of repairs.

In the advisory/circular released on Sunday, LASTMA explained that movement from Kara Bridge inward Berger would be sealed off while traffic would be diverted into the other part of the road going out of Lagos.
It noted that the road would be divided into two lanes, both ways and traffic would be divided back to the road going inward Lagos at Berger intersection which links River Valley Estate.
