Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has bought not less than 100 patrol vans from Innoson motors in order to assist security agencies in the state to effectively discharge their duties of providing adequate security and maintaining peace to engender development.
This was made known on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, while the governor was handing over 65 patrol vans to the state command of the Nigeria Police Force to aid its security operations.
Governor Ugwuanyi also revealed that another 260 vehicles, as well as motorcycles and bicycles, were also purchased for distribution to the Forest Guards and Vigilante/ Neighborhood Watch groups for community policing.

Speaking after receiving the keys to the vehicles, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdulrahman, commended the governor for the kind gesture.
He said the governor’s gesture was a demonstration of his commitment and determination to secure the people and sustain the state’s glory of being one of the most peaceful in the country.
Abdurrahman stated that Ugwuanyi had given the police the tools to work round the clock and patrol every nook and cranny of the state, “while doing our investigations and surveillance.”
Assuring the governor of the force’s resolve to utilise the vehicles for the purposes for which they were purchased, the CP advised his men and officers against using them for their personal needs.
“You will see them (vehicles) on all our roads and in every nook and cranny of the state doing the job,” he stated.
