10 dead as Coronavirus quarantine hotel collapse in China, over 28 missing

A hotel used as a quarantine center in Quanzhou China has collapsed killing over 10 people.

Ten people have died and 28 are missing as they remain trapped under the rubble of a collapsed hotel that was used to quarantine people under the deadly coronavirus observation in the Chinese city of Quanzhou.

So far Chinese rescue authorities have rescued 48 people.

Out of the 48 people rescued, 38 has been sent to the hospital for medical treatment.

Rescue workers are still searching the rubble of the five-storey Xinjia Hotel in the southern province of Fujian.

Chinese state media says the hotel was being used as a quarantine facility to monitor people who had had close contact with coronavirus patients.

At the time of the collapse, 58 people were under quarantine in the hotel and all of them had tested negative for the deadly coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the Italian man infected with coronavirus in Nigeria has now fully recovered.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, on Friday, the governor also disclosed that the 44-year-old Italian man would soon be discharged from the isolation centre in Lagos.
