The Former First Lady, Patience Jonathan have reportedly struck a deal with First Lady Aisha Muhammadu Buhari to turn her 200 bed hotel to a coronavirus disease isolation and treatment centre in Abuja.
The hotel, which is believed to be worth about N2 billion, is under interim forfeiture secured by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the court on April 30, 2018.
The Nation reports that a deal was struck between Mrs Jonathan and Mrs. Buhari during a recent visit of the former to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
This led to Mrs Jonathan’s release of the Abuja hotel, under litigation, for use by the government at the critical time.
Mrs. Buhari through her pet project, the Future Assured Programme, struck a separate agreement with the former first lady and the ministry of health to equip the property as a treatment centre with international standards.
Although the hotel, which has witnessed intensed finishing touches in the last few days would be handed over to the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, on Monday, it will be managed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) COVID-19 committee.
