In a letter dated January 26, 2026, and sent to the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Frederick Leonard’s lawyers accused Stanley Ontop of making repeated false claims about the actor for more than two years.
They said the statements were unprovoked and have harmed Leonard’s public image and income.
The legal team argued that although the Nigerian Constitution guarantees freedom of speech, it does not protect anyone who spreads damaging falsehoods about another person.
They maintained that Leonard’s reputation has been unfairly attacked and cited relevant laws to support their complaint.
In the petition, Leonard asked the police to investigate the matter, question Stanley, and direct him to withdraw the alleged defamatory posts and publish a written apology within seven days.
The letter warned that further legal steps would follow if he fails to comply.
Leonard also shared a copy of the petition on Instagram, making it clear he intends to pursue the case.
He stated that anyone making allegations must be ready to back them up with proof.
Sharing the petition on his Instagram page on Monday morning, Leonard wrote: “I’m coming for you.”
“Mr. Stanley Chibueze Ajemba a.k.a Stanley Ontop. You have been served, the law will takes its course to the full extent. You first, others will follow. If you claim or allege, you must prove with evidence. I’m coming for you.”
Stanley On Top, however, reacted shortly after the news became public, appearing unconcerned about the lawsuit.
He said he is prepared to meet Leonard in court, adding that he is waiting for a formal invitation from the police and is ready to respond through the legal process.
He wrote, “Film rod too mumu. See y’all in court! Ogun wan kill you? Na, ur pelnise you suppose petition, not Stanley Ontop. Ezi Ofia, I am waiting for the police invitation. Ontop no small.
“Film rod ur papa left yash Atulu muru ebunu. Keep ur Dickson one place to avoid being dragged. Ndi Ala Ndi Ala”.
