Nine aides to the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, have tested positive for coronavirus.
Benson Abounu, the deputy governor of Benue state and chairman, state action committee on COVID-19, disclosed this at a press conference in Makurdi on Wednesday.
According to him, the state action committee on COVID-19 is currently tracing those who came in contact with the nine aides who have the virus.
Abounu said despite the number of aides who tested positive for the virus, all government day-to-day activities were going on smoothly.
This is coming a few hours after Governor Ortom announced that he had tested positive for coronavirus, advising those who he came in contact with recently to go for COVID test.
