Reno Omokri, a former aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, led a group of people to protest against the medical trip of President Muhammadu Buhari to the United Kingdom.
KanyiDaily recalls that on Tuesday, March 30, President Buhari had traveled to London where he would be spending two weeks to enable him to undergo a medical checkup.
On Friday, Omokri and a group of Nigerians decided to stage a protest at the gate of Abuja House to harass President Buhari out of London.
In a series of tweets on Friday, Omokri questioned the decision of Buhari to have himself treated in London after refusing to build a single hospital in Nigeria.
“He left Nigeria on the day that doctors began their strike. He’s not building hospitals for people, yet he comes here to enjoy the best in a country that has law and order. Why can’t he do that in his country?” Omokri asked.
“His children all schooled here in England. He has not built a single school for Nigerians. If they are sick, they all come here.”
Omokri also lamented the insecurity in the country and the hardship Nigerians are going through due to the economy under the Buhari’s administration.
The former presidential aide also criticised Buhari over the rehabilitation of repentant Boko Haram insurgents and the Lekki shooting during the #EndSARS protest in Lagos.
KanyiDaily recalls that the First Lady, Aisha Buhari had recently returned to the country from Dubai, United Arab Emirates , where she had also gone for medical treatment.
