Gunmen Invade Imo School, Chase Away Students Participating In JSCCE Exam [Video]

Unknown gunmen have reportedly attacked students who are participating in the ongoing 2021 Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination (JSCCE) at the Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkume in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.

It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the school on Monday when the students were preparing to begin their English language examinations in the ongoing JSCCE Examination.

The armed men were said to have shot sporadically into the air just before the answer booklets were distributed and ordered everyone out of the premises as both teachers and students fled in different directions.

PUNCH quoted an indigene of the community saying that the gunmen also set ablaze some motorcycles belonging to some of the staff and students of the school.

“Gunmen came to the school and chased out the students this morning. They started shooting repeatedly and insisted that no examination would be allowed to go on.

“They destroyed some motorcycles and shot continuously until the students and teachers ran away,” the source said.

Although there were no report of casualties, a viral video of the incident showed the students and staff shouting and running for their lives.
