Heavily armed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have stormed the Federal High Court in Abuja where the Federal Government is set to arraign the co-defendants of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The four defendants – Bright Chimezie, Chidiebere Onwudike, Benjamin Maduagwu, and David Nwaurusi – will be arraign before Justice Binta Nyako on terrorism charges this Wednesday morning.
At the time of this report, the defendants are already seated in the courtroom, while heavily armed DSS operatives have taken positions around the court premises to ward off possible threats to peace by their followers.
Meanwhile, both Justice Nyako and counsel to the Federal Government, Mr Shuaib Magaji Labaran are yet to arrive at the court.
Counsel to the defendants, led by Ifeanyi Ejiofor have also arrived and are waiting for the commencement of proceedings.
KanyiDaily recalls that Nnamdi Kanu’s trial was adjourned to February 16th after he pleaded not guilty to 15-count charges bordering on treasonable felony and terrorism instituted against him by the FG at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
