US-based model and actress, Fancy Acholonu has apologized for her choice of words while announcing her separation from Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo.

KanyiDaily recalls that last year, Acholonu broke the internet when she called off her engagement to Ekubo, barely three months to their long-anticipated wedding.

While announcing their split, the model who did not give a reason for the breakup, said that “it is important that everyone finds their happiness and live their truth.”

Her choice of words led many Nigerians to think that she was probably saying that Ekubu is a closeted gay, a rumour that has followed the actor over the years.

Acholonu clarified that her statement was misconstrued by the public and apologized for giving a wrong impression about Ekubo’s sexuality.

She added that the actor has apologized for what he did that led to their separation and she has apologized to Alex’s family and friends for her reaction.
