New Naira: CBN Deadline Is Like Judgement Day – Reno Omokri

A former presidential aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has likened the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) deadline for phasing out the old naira notes to judgement day.

Reno Omokri Reacts To CBN Deadline For Naira Notes

The CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, had on October 26, 2022, announced that new naira notes would be introduced to replace the current 200, 500, and 1, 000 notes.

The apex bank boss also gave Tuesday, January 31, 2023, as the deadline for phasing out the old versions of the affected naira notes.

The apex bank, in its commitment to the deadline, also sent a reminder to Nigerians, insisting that January 31, 2023 deadline remained sacrosanct as long as phasing out of the old versions of the redesigned notes is concerned and, therefore, advised all Nigerians to return all the old N200, N500, and N1, 000 notes in their possession to their deposit banks for replacement before the deadline.

Taking to his official Twitter handle on Saturday, Reno Omokri likened the CBN deadline to judgement day.

He said if by January 31st, Nigerians have not changed their old naira notes, it will become useless.

According to him, if by judgement day, anyone who has not repented, the person’s earthly wealth will be useless to buy eternal life.

He added that God will never postpone judgement day for you.

Reno Omokri wrote, “This CBN deadline is like Judgment Day. If by January 31st you have not changed your Naira, it will be useless.

“If by Judgment Day you have not repented, your Earthly wealth will be useless to buy you eternal life. And God will NEVER postpone Judgment Day for you.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has invalidated the existing Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Identity Card with effect from December 2022.

The police force command said the action is in line with the IGP Usman Alkali Baba’s zeal to sanitize and standardize all sectors including the Police Community Relations Committee.
