The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in next month’s general election, Peter Obi has appreciated the donation of a N100k to him by a secondary school girl, Chizzy Ebube Balogun.
Balogun had on Saturday night at the South-South Business Summit in Port Harcourt, Rivers State donated the amount to Peter Obi as her contribution to him for a better Nigeria.
Peter Obi is vying for the nation’s number one job on the strength of his character and his antecedents as former Anambra State governor as well as the backing of Nigerian youths who desire change.
He has continuously assured Nigerians that he will fight corruption, and insecurity, improve the economy, and reduce poverty amongst other promises.
Taking to his official Twitter handle on Sunday, Obi described Balogun’s contribution as a “small but most invaluable donation.”
According to him, the young lady has invested in her future and those of her contemporaries and generations yet unborn.
The LP presidential candidate said Ebube Balogun is an exemplar of social consciousness and prayed to God to bless her and her generation.
He wrote, “My deep appreciation to Ms. Chizzy Ebube Balogun, a secondary school (SS2) student, for her small but most invaluable donation.
“She has invested in her future and those of her contemporaries and generations yet unborn.
“She is an exemplar in social consciousness. God bless you and your generation.”
