President Muhammadu Buhari met with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting was held at Buhari’s official residence.
It was gathered that the meeting led to the 40-minute delay of Buhari before arriving at the Council Chambers to chair this week’s Federal Executive Council meeting.
Buhari was said to have arrived at the council chambers at around 10:40 am. The meeting usually starts at 10:00 am.
This comes four days after the APC held its campaign rally at Eagle Square, Abuja.
Reports say that there were no known reasons behind the meeting, it may not, however, be unconnected with the APC’s campaign and the election which is only about 10 days away.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele to reverse the naira redesign policy now.
Rotimi Akeredolu said that both the new and old notes should be allowed to co-exist, noting that despite an existing court injunction, the old notes seem to have ceased to be legal tender in the country.
