“He’s Trolling IPOB’s Sit At Home Order” – Kemi Olunloyo Defends MC Oluomo’s Threat To Igbos

Controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has come to the defense of Chairman of the Lagos Parks Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, otherwise known as MC Oluomo.

KanyiDaily recalls that MC Oluomo was caught on camera threatening anyone who intends to vote for a party other than the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stay at home during the Lagos governorship election on Saturday.

His reference to “Iya Chukwudi” in the video suggested that his message was directed at Igbo voters in Lagos who are believed to have leaning towards the Labour Party in the elections.

Ify Aniebo Rhodes-Vivour, the wife of Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, said this isn’t the first time MC Oluomo is issuing threats to people because he’s backed by the government.

The comment elicited criticism on and off social media as many Nigerians asked security operatives to arrest MC Oluomo for threatening Igbo people.

Reacting in an interview with Arise TV, Lagos Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa said the video clips are being reviewed and the threats are subjects of an ongoing investigation.

Kemi Olunloyo Defends MC Oluomo’s Comment

Reacting on her Instagram page, the journalist compared Oluomo’s comment to the sit-at-home order issued in the South-East by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Olunloyo stressed that Oluomo is an APC supporter, not a government official or a candidate, adding that the transport union leader can’t hurt a fly as he was only bringing out his comedy side.

“MCOLUOMO: “If you’re not voting for us then stay at home” is NOT a threat!! Oluomo is a supporter of APC and NOT a govt official or candidate.

“There is no need to fear. I see the statement as a trolling comment to IPOB’s sit at home program. Oluomo has a comedic side to him. He would never hurt a fly”.

Meanwhile, MC Oluomo has denied threatening Igbo voters in Lagos, stressing that his comment that generated controversy is a playful remark with his sister, whose name is “Iya Chukwudi”.
