APC Sets Aside Expulsion Of Danjuma Goje, Says He Remains Bonafide Party Member

The National Headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reversed the expulsion of Senator Mohammad Danjuma Goje by the Gombe State Executive Committee of the party.

This was contained in a short statement issued on Thursday evening by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka.

The APC said Goje remains is, and remains, a bonafide member of the Gombe State chapter of the party.

The statement reads, The attention of the National Headquarters of All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to media reports of the purported expulsion of His Excellency, Senator Mohammad Danjuma Goje by the Gombe State Executive Committee of our Party.

The Party has directed that the said expulsion and all related actions in the matter be, and are hereby, set aside pending further review and decision of the Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) on the matter.

Therefore, Senator Goje is, and remains, a bonafide member of the Gombe State Chapter of our Party.”

Recall that the state chapter of the party had expelled Sen. Goje (Gombe Central) for anti-party activities.

Announcing the suspension to newsmen on April 18, 2023, APC Chairman in Kashere Ward, Tanimu Abdullahi, alleged that the senator committed 10 offences, including failure to grace the flag-off of APC’s governorship campaign and general anti-party activities.

Abdullahi said the senator’s popularity could have given the party victory if only he had considered and meant well for APC during the elections.

For this, we, the APC executives at Kashere Ward, do not see any need to keep him in the party. He is hereby expelled for anti-party activities,” he said.

Reports say the expulsion notice was, reportedly, signed by 31 executive members, including four state officials.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that the Delta State Police Command has announced that it is looking for family members/relatives or friends of an unidentified male corpse.

The command, in a statement issued by its Spokesman, Bright Edafe on Thursday, said the name and address of the deceased are unknown.
