Dikko and Faruk took the oath of office administered by the State’s Chief Judge, Danladi Abubakar between 10:40 am – 10:45 am, in the presence of the former governor, Aminu Bello Masari, and his deputy, Muntari Lawal.
Dikko Radda, aged 52, was a former Director General of SMEDAN, Chief of Staff to Masari, and Chairman of Charanchi Local Government Council.
During the Katsina 2023 gubernatorial election, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged as Dikko’s primary challenger.
Senator Danmarke had threatened to contest the result in court, but later reversed his decision, paving the way for Dikko’s unchallenged first term reign.
The swearing-in ceremony witnessed the presence of notable individuals such as Katsina’s former Governor, Ibrahim Shema, Abba Musa Rimi, and the governor of Maradi, Niger Republic, Abubakar Shuaibu.
KanyiDaily had also reported that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State was sworn in for a second term tenure of four years.
