Hilda Baci, a 26-year-old chef, cooked continuously for four days, preparing over 100 pots of food. Although aiming for 100 hours, a minor mistake deducted some time from her final total. Nonetheless, her determination and skills surpassed the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set in 2019.
Hilda’s motivation was to promote Nigerian cuisine and inspire African women. Her journey gained widespread attention on social media, with millions of followers tracking her progress via Instagram.
High-profile figures, including the formerVice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and award-winning singer Tiwa Savage, showed their support during Hilda’s record attempt.
Following the rules, Hilda cooked multiple items simultaneously and invited the public to enjoy her meals, donating any leftovers to the Festus Fajemilo Foundation.
Hilda’s achievement adds to her already impressive culinary career, which includes hosting a TV show and winning the Jollof Face-off competition.
In 2023, Hilda Baci proudly joins the Guinness World Records title holders as the longest cooking marathon record breaker.
